3D Scanning

EinScan Pro HD handheld 3D scanner capturing a mechanical part for reverse engineering

3D Scanning Services

AstraCore Lab provides practical 3D scanning for parts, prototypes, and real-world objects when you need accurate digital geometry for reproduction, measurement, modification, or documentation.

Scanner & Capabilities (EinScan Pro HD)

  • Scanner: Shining 3D EinScan Pro HD (handheld structured-light)
  • Accuracy: up to 0.04 mm (fixed scan, single-shot accuracy)
  • Volumetric accuracy: up to 0.045 mm + 0.3 mm/m (handheld w/ markers)
  • Point distance (resolution): 0.2–3 mm (depending on mode/settings)
  • Scan speed (handheld): up to 10 fps / 3,000,000 pts/s (HD) and 30 fps / 1,500,000 pts/s (Rapid)
  • Fixed scan speed: single scan < 0.5 s
  • Single scan range: 209 × 160 mm to 310 × 240 mm
  • Alignment modes: markers / texture / feature / hybrid / turntable / manual
  • Light source: LED

Best For

  • Reverse engineering an existing part
  • Creating a model for 3D printing or CNC workflows
  • Replacement parts and fit checks
  • Capturing organic shapes (hand-formed, sculpted, worn parts)
  • Archiving legacy components or prototypes

Deliverables

  • Mesh files: STL / OBJ
  • Optional cleanup: alignment, noise reduction, hole filling, watertight printable mesh
  • Optional references: key dimensions / measurement notes (when requested)

Notes on Scan Readiness

Highly reflective, transparent, or very dark objects may require temporary surface prep (matte spray or tape) to capture clean geometry. We’ll advise the simplest approach based on your part.

How It Works

  1. Send photos + basic dimensions (or arrange drop-off)
  2. We confirm feasibility and provide a quote (price + lead time)
  3. Scan + alignment
  4. Cleanup (if requested)
  5. Delivery of final files via download link

Email photos of the item (multiple angles) and basic dimensions to:
chadmcb@astracorelab.com

Include these details:

  • What the part is used for (fit/function)
  • Overall size (L × W × H) and any critical dimensions
  • Desired output (STL/OBJ, printable mesh, CAD-ready needs)
  • Target tolerance/accuracy requirements (if known)
  • Quantity (one-off vs multiple parts)
  • Deadline / desired turnaround

Typical response time: 24–48 hours. If you need a rush scan, include your deadline in the subject line.
